Catalina的祕密基地

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt im Catalinsa Hideaway sehr genossen! Die Lage ist traumhaft – mitten in der Natur, ruhig und perfekt zum Entspannen. Besonders gut gefallen hat uns der wunderschöne Poolbereich. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, Die Zimmer sind sauber und geschmackvoll eingerichtet, wenn auch teilweise etwas einfacher gehalten. Man hat kein helles Licht im Haus(Bad) und man kann den Raum nicht wirklich gut abdunkeln. Das Frühstück ist sehr einfach. Das könnte man sicher optimieren. Das Essen ist aber sonst sehr Lecker. Insgesamt ein wunderbarer Ort, um mal abzuschalten und Panama von seiner ruhigen Seite zu erleben. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Al veel gereisd en altijd gekozen voor hotels met een + maar dit overtreft alle verwachtingen. De ligging aan een prachtig strand! Het hotel ligt afgelegen en de weg erheen is in slechte staat maar laat dat je zeker niet afschrikken. In Santa Catalina valt toch niet veel te beleven dus je mist niets. Dit hotel is zo mooi!!! De manier waarop alles is ingeplant, het ontwerp, het zwembad, de prachtig gedecoreerde kamers... Wij hadden een gewone kamer... nu ja gewoon. De kamers hebben zicht op een inham met zeewater. Je hebt een zeer ruim balkon met hangmat dat (hallelujah!!!) helemaal is afgemaakt met muggengaas. Je kan hier uren liggen genieten van een toevallig passerende schildpad of kaaiman zonder ook maar één keer gestoken te worden. En dan hebben we het nog niet gehad over de eigenaren en het personeel. Iedereen is super vriendelijk en enorm behulpzaam. Er hangt hier een enorm losse sfeer tussen het personeel, het is duidelijk dat iedereen er graag werkt. En last but not least... het eten! Deze kok had ik met plezier in mijn valies gestoken. Het lekkerste dat we gegeten hebben in Panama. De kok weet aan elk basic gerecht een persoonlijke twist te geven. Het uitzicht vanuit het restaurant is fantastisch, dat maakt de totaalbeleving helemaal af. Je kan de tour naar Coiba via het hotel boeken en wij waren meer dan tevreden over het professionalisme van Discover Coiba. Genoten van elke seconde en nu al zin om terug te gaan...

Excellent hôtel dans la région préservée de Santa Catalina. Hôtel très beau, chambre très confortable. À proximité du village de Santa Catalina et de ses spots de surf réputés. Attention, prévoir un peu de temps pour y aller compte tenu de l’état des routes mais cela vaut le détour. Possibilité de faire des excursions sur l’île de Coiba (à faire absolument pour les fonds marins).

I’d give Catalina’s Hideaway more stars if I could. Ryan and Anthea have created an amazing space to relax, experience and feed the soul. From the moment we got there, greeted with cool towels after our long drive, we were cared for like family. Anthea, Olga and Nick—all the staff, really—went out of their way to make sure our experience surpassed expectation. I was there for an Embodied Leadership retreat but there were options to add various activities if we wanted. On arrival we signed up for what we wanted and had opportunity to meet with staff individually to talk over any questions. They went to work scheduling our requests around previously scheduled retreat activities. I feel I should mention there were 9 of us on this retreat, 9 lists of requested activities, some of which weren’t offered in the signup. The next day we were given our individual schedules. It was like the old-school Fantasy Island sans Ricardo Montalban’s judgment. (Anthea, Olga and Nick as a much preferred version of Mr. Roarke and Tattoo) Ryan and Anthea are very involved locally and have sought out and vetted the various service providers to work with in order to give their guests the best experience. We truly appreciated that involvement with the local community rather than the walled-off feeling of separation from locals one gets at some resorts. We did all the things! While I went to Catalina’s Hideaway on a retreat, my husband tagged along for the beach, surfing and he’d hoped for fishing. Surf fishing in Panama wasn’t what he was used to in Florida, he was a little bummed. We asked about fishing in the area and were given several options. Anthea called her son over at dinner one night to give my husband tips on fishing in the property’s pond, shrimp was provided for surf fishing and we were sent on a mangrove tour (the captain being a local fisherman who offered to take my husband fishing again any time). Oh—the food. You just have to experience this. Anthea and Jose absolutely have to put out a cookbook. We’ve only been home for a day and are already missing the food (and the space, the pool, the daily yoga, the weather —the whole vibe…) I’ve said a lot, I could say so much more but one really just needs to experience this place. Give yourself the gift Catalina’s Hideaway offer their guests.

Highly recommend this gem in Santa Catalina! The property is gorgeous, well maintained and the staff is more like a family and takes initiative to get to know you and really makes anything possible. Want a fresh coconut with a straw from the tree? YES! Food and the staff are incredible. Fresh curated menu with a variety of protein and lots of good healthy options. Excursions are plentiful, and staying finite is just as amazing. The yoga deck, mud bath, massage area and private casita decks are just a few of the reason you never have to leave the property if you don’t want to.
